A Note from the Editor
How do you define good leadership? Is it based on an organization demonstrating successful results? Does it come down to building relationships with the people you lead? Or is it about motivating people to be their best? The answer may be all of the above, plus more. A study published in PLOS One in 2022 found that engaging leaders make team members feel more optimistic and more proficient as they develop skills and strive to meet their goals—and help them be more flexible and resilient. In short, engaging leaders inspire engaged followers to perform even better. In other words, the well-led get better at filling their own roles.
This month, we hear from some of the leaders in the industry about what leadership means to them. And we have tips from the business world at large on establishing your own presence as a leader and rising to the challenge.
Also inside are articles from experts about taking a holistic approach to palliative care, how the Supreme Court's recent Chevron decision might affect businesses, how artificial intelligence is changing scheduling and more. Meanwhile, we're working on putting together our editorial plan for 2025, so if there are topics you'd like to see us cover next year (or sooner!), please email me at hwolfson@cahabamedia.com to let me know! As always, thanks for reading!
