Beyond administrative efficiencies, AI is delivering measurable value in the field. Skanska is currently using Dusty Robotics’ FieldPrinter on the upper floors of its Lee Health Fort Myers project. By automating the printing of drywall, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other trade layouts directly from the coordinated building information modeling (BIM) model, the technology helps keep all teams aligned and ensures that mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, medical equipment and structural components are installed in accordance with design intent.
It also supports compliance with strict healthcare regulations by keeping layouts aligned with ongoing design updates.
At the same time, Skanska is piloting Buildots at the Lee Health Fort Myers project, using 360-degree camera captures and AI to track progress against both the schedule and the BIM model. This provides objective, real-time insights that help identify potential schedule risks earlier, improve coordination across stakeholders and support the complex sequencing required for critical healthcare environments.
