SALARY & STAFFING
2025 SURVEY
Each year, HomeCare checks in with home medical equipment (HME) providers and home health agencies (HHA) and other in-home care providers to see where they stand on salaries, benefits and staffing at their organizations. We know it’s a topic of great concern for your business, and we hope sharing this information provided by your peers helps you in decision-making. Here’s what stood out from this year’s data:
- Most respondents held their staffing levels the same or grew: 78% of HME providers say that in 2024 they either kept staffing the same or increased, and 86% of in-home care providers say they increased staffing or held steady.
- For HME organizations, staffing growth came overwhelmingly in customer-facing roles: 56% in customer service and/or technicians and another 30% in sales and sales support.
- For in-home care, staff development appears increasingly important: 58% offered continuing education as part of their benefits package in 2024, compared to 42% in 2024.
- Recruiting is by far the biggest challenge across the board: 46% of HME providers say it’s their largest hurdle, far ahead of retention (23%) and training (22%). Even more in-home care providers—51%—noted recruiting as their top challenge, followed by retention at 34%.
