Do’s & Don’ts of Attending WEFTEC

DO

Do: Have a plan. With daily technical sessions, presentations, facility tours, networking events, live competitions and 1,000-plus exhibitors on the show floor, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. Create a schedule for educational sessions and presentations you’d like to attend and booths you’d like to visit, and coordinate any networking opportunities in advance so you have an agenda ahead of time.

Do: Take time to enjoy the show. When you have free time in your schedule, walk the exhibitor floor to see all the new technology on display, take pictures with mascots, play games and join happy hour events. And be sure to check out the Operations Challenge to watch professionals in wastewater treatment compete in timed events.

Do: Remember to visit Pumps & Systems at Booth #7022. Meet the team and grab a magazine. We can’t wait to see you there!

DON’T

Don’t: Underestimate the size of the conference. WEFTEC is a huge show with a lot of ground to cover. Booths and educational sessions are often far apart, and large crowds can also impact how quickly you’re able to get around. When planning, be sure to look over the floor plan to create an efficient schedule.

Don’t: Ignore trade show best practices. Wear comfortable shoes, pack plenty of business cards, stay hydrated and bring something to take notes on.

Don’t: Forget to save room in your luggage. Exhibitors are always handing out cool swag at their booths—pens, candy, tote bags, T-shirts, themed stress balls, cups and more. These can quickly take up room in your suitcase, and you don’t want to be left deciding what does and doesn’t make the cut when packing up.
